For collecting every original
A Kululu alternative, with the plan limits side by side
Kululu is a good QR photo app with a generous free plan and real moderation. Where couples run into it is the limits: a 500-upload cap on Plus, upload windows of 1 or 3 months, and prices that depend on where you check from. Here is what each plan gets you, and when Pix Wedding is the better fit.

FROM A GUEST
Pick Pix Wedding for unlimited uploads and months to collect them. Stay with Kululu if you must approve every photo first.
We build Pix Wedding, so read this as an interested opinion and check the working. Every Kululu fact comes from its own pages, read on October 18, 2026: plan cards, pricing page and FAQ, refund policy, fair usage policy, the homepage and a help article dated May 21, 2025. Pix Wedding facts come from our own plan list and refund policy. Nobody paid for this page.
Kululu and Pix Wedding, row by row
Both run on a QR code with no guest app and a one-time price per event. The differences are in the caps, the clock and the extras. Kululu details from its own pages, checked October 18, 2026.
Guests scan one QR code and upload from the phone browser with no account. Free covers 20 guest uploads; paid plans are $49, $59 or $89 once, with unlimited guests, photos and videos in original quality.

Kululu's free plan is bigger. Here is the catch.
Kululu Free takes five times as many uploads as Pix Free. It also closes after one day and deletes after a week, which is the part that matters for a wedding.
Kululu Free
Good for a small dinner that only needs one evening of photos. For a wedding, the 24-hour window misses the guests who send photos the week after, and the album has to be downloaded within 7 days.
Pix Wedding Free
Smaller on purpose. It is there so you can scan, upload and download with real phones before paying. For the day itself, Starter at $49 keeps uploads open for 3 months.
Kululu limits from its plan cards, checked October 18, 2026. Kululu's own FAQ calls Free fine for around 10 to 20 guests, "though a bit limiting".
When Kululu is the better pick
Five cases where we would point you to Kululu. If two of these describe your wedding, it is the right tool, and we would rather you book it than ours.
A bigger free plan
Kululu Free takes up to 100 photos and videos with unlimited guests. Pix Free stops at 20 guest uploads. For a dinner with ten or twenty people that only needs one evening of photos, Kululu Free may be all you need, as long as you download within 7 days.
Approve photos before they show
Kululu Pro lists manual moderation and an automatic content filter, and Kululu says it can add a human moderation agent on request. Pix shows every upload straight away. Hosts can delete photos one by one or in bulk, but there is no approval queue.
Slideshow on every plan
Kululu puts the digital album and real-time slideshow in every plan, Free included. On Pix the live slideshow starts at Standard ($59).
A refund promise with no deadline written
Kululu promises your money back if you end up not using it at your event, "for whatever reason", and its refund page names no time limit. Pix refunds in full when no guest uploaded, and you ask within 30 days after the wedding.
Welcome forms and branding
Kululu Pro lists Advanced Welcome Forms, full brand control and a custom event URL. If your event is a branded production as much as a wedding, that set is built for you.

no app and no 24-hour clock.
This is what your guests see on Pix Wedding: one QR code on the table, the upload page in the phone browser, and the shared album filling up. On paid plans it stays open for months, not hours.

Which plan Kululu suggests for your guest list
Kululu's pricing FAQ matches plans to guest numbers. Pix Wedding plans do not change with guest count, so the right column is about features and time instead.
| Guests | Kululu (its FAQ) | Pix Wedding |
|---|---|---|
| About 10 to 20 guests | Kululu's FAQ says Free fits "around 10-20 guests", though "a bit limiting": 24 hours to upload, 7 days to download. | Free covers 20 guest uploads as a test. For the real day, Starter ($49) with unlimited uploads and a 3-month window. |
| Up to 100 guests | The FAQ points to Plus for "up to 100 guests" and "no more than 500 photos". Plus caps at 500 uploads with a 1-month window. | Starter or Standard. Guest count never changes the plan; pick by features and how long guests should keep uploading. |
| 100 to 150 guests | The FAQ does not name a plan for this range. Plus fits if the album stays under 500 uploads; Pro if you expect more. | Same plans as above. Uploads stay unlimited on every paid plan. |
| 150 guests and up | The FAQ recommends Pro for a "big event (150+ guests)": unlimited uploads, 3 months to upload, saved for 1 year. | Standard ($59) adds the slideshow, audio guestbook and photographer link; Pro ($89) adds AI selfie search and 2 years online. |
Quotes from the FAQ on kululu.com/pricing, checked October 18, 2026. Kululu's unlimited plans fall under its fair usage policy: up to 10,000 uploads and 5,000 participants per event, more on request.
Watch Kululu's own two-minute demo
Before you switch, see the product you are leaving. This is Kululu's official video: the QR code, the digital album and the live photo wall.
The core idea is the same on both: guests scan, upload in the browser, and photos appear on a shared wall. The video is from 2023, so the plans it mentions may not match the ones Kululu sells today. Use the table above for current limits.
The Pix version of the photo wall is the live wedding slideshow, included on Standard and Pro.

How long guests can upload, and how long it stays
Most wedding photos arrive in the first days, but the cousin who finally sends 200 phone pictures three weeks later is real. Bars are drawn to scale against 24 months.
Upload window
Album online for
Kululu starts the clock from your event date and guest activity, which it detects on its own, not from the day you sign up. On Pix, the window length is set by your plan. On both, download the full album before it goes offline; Pix also sells an optional extra year online.
What Kululu costs, and why we can't give one number
Kululu does not print prices on its pricing page. They load in a plan widget, and the widget picks a currency from where you are. Here is exactly what we saw and where the dollar figures come from.
The widget showed Polish zloty because of where we checked from, and adding a currency to the address did not change it. The pricing page also ran a "50% off on all plans for limited time" banner.
These come from a Kululu help article about upgrading from Plus to Pro by paying the $60 difference. The article itself says pricing and promotions may change over time, so treat them as a guide, not a quote.
Every paid plan has unlimited uploads. You can open Standard on the pricing table to see the full list.
The fair reading: going by the 2025 dollar example, Kululu Plus can cost less than Pix Starter, but Plus stops at 500 uploads and closes after a month. At the top end, both Pix Standard and Pix Pro come in under the $99 Kululu Pro example. Compare the final amounts each checkout shows you, in your own currency.
Kululu says 4.7 from 500+ reviews. Four questions to ask.
We did not count or score anyone's reviews for this page, and we are not going to grade a competitor's rating. These are the questions we would ask of any wedding app's badge, ours included.
Which platform is it?
The Kululu homepage says "Rated 4.7 based on 500+ reviews" but does not name the review site. Ask, or search the platform yourself before you lean on the number.
Are the reviews from weddings?
Kululu serves weddings, parties and corporate events, and a rating across all of them says little about your wedding. Look for reviews that mention a wedding and a guest count close to yours.
Do they mention the plan?
A five-star review from a Pro event says little about Plus, where uploads stop at 500. Read for the plan name, or for any complaint about the upload limit or the album closing.
How old are they?
Plans change. Kululu's own help article from May 2025 quotes dollar prices that differ from what the pricing widget showed us in October 2026. Favour reviews from the last year.
Badge text from the Kululu homepage, checked October 18, 2026. For the feature head to head, see Pix Wedding vs Kululu.
Both promise your money back. The terms differ.
An empty album is the real risk with any QR photo app. Here is what each one says it will do, word for word where we can.
- If your guests never upload a single photo, you get 100% back
- Ask within 30 days after the wedding
- Your own test uploads do not count as guest uploads
- Refunds go back through Polar, usually in 5 to 10 business days
- "100% money-back guarantee in case you ended up not using Kululu at your event"
- "For whatever reason. No questions asked."
- No time limit written on the refund page
- Ask by email or chat
Kululu's promise covers not using the app at all; Pix's covers using it and getting nothing back from guests. Different risks, so read both before you pay.

Most couples pick this

One payment. No subscription. Full refund if no guest uploads.
Switching in the middle of planning, in eight steps
Most couples who switch do it before the wedding, after the QR cards are designed. This is the order that avoids a second print run and a confused guest.
- 1
Read where your Kululu plan stands
If you paid for Plus or Pro and will not use it at the wedding, Kululu's refund page says you get your money back when you end up not using it at your event. Ask by email or chat, the two routes it lists.
- 2
Make the Pix event and test it free
Create the event, then scan the code with three or four phones in your family. The free plan covers 20 guest uploads, enough to see how upload, album and download feel before you pay.
- 3
Count every place the old QR code is printed
Table cards, welcome signs, invitation inserts, the wedding website, a message in the group chat. A printed Kululu code keeps opening Kululu, so each one needs the new Pix code or link.
- 4
Design and print the new cards
Starter includes 48 QR template designs. Our free QR Sticker Designer also exports print-ready table cards if you want to make your own.
- 5
Pick the plan by the upload window
Starter keeps uploads open 3 months, Standard 6 months, Pro 12 months. If guests are slow to send photos, the window matters more than any extra.
- 6
Send the photographer the right link
Standard and Pro include a private photographer upload link, so the professional gallery can land in the same album as the guest photos.
- 7
Turn on what replaces Kululu extras
The live slideshow (Standard and Pro) covers the photo wall. Film roll mode hides the guest gallery until a reveal time you set, on every paid plan.
- 8
Run one test at the venue
Scan the printed card on the venue wifi or mobile signal and upload one photo and one short video. Delete the test files after; they do not count as guest uploads for the refund.
Making new cards? The free QR Sticker Designer exports print-ready table cards, and our guide to collecting photos from wedding guests covers where to put them.

Kululu alternative FAQ
Straight answers to the questions people ask most about this topic.
It depends on what you need from Kululu. If the 500-upload cap on Kululu Plus or its 1-month upload window worries you, Pix Wedding gives unlimited uploads and guests on every paid plan, with 3 to 12 months to upload and 6 to 24 months online, for $49, $59 or $89 once. If you need to approve every photo before guests see it, Kululu Pro is the better fit, because Pix has no approval queue.
On October 18, 2026 Kululu's pricing widget showed us Free, Plus at PLN 159 and Pro at PLN 399, one-time and excluding taxes, in Polish zloty because of where we checked from. Its pricing page also showed a "50% off on all plans" banner. The only dollar figures we found are in a Kululu help article dated May 21, 2025, which used $39 for Plus and $99 for Pro as an example. Check the price at checkout in your own currency.
Kululu has a Free plan with no card: up to 100 photos and videos, unlimited guests, a 24-hour upload window, standard quality, and the album is saved for 7 days. Pix Wedding's free plan is smaller, 20 guest uploads, and is meant as a test before you pick a paid plan.
Not on every plan. Going by Kululu's May 2025 dollar example, Plus ($39) costs less than Pix Starter ($49), but Plus stops at 500 uploads, closes uploads after 1 month and keeps the album for 3 months. Against Kululu Pro ($99 in that example), Pix Standard is $59 and Pix Pro is $89, both with unlimited uploads. Prices change, so compare the final amounts at each checkout.
Yes, but the printed Kululu codes keep opening Kululu, so every card, sign and invitation insert needs the new Pix code or link. Starter includes 48 QR template designs, and the free QR Sticker Designer exports print-ready cards. If you paid Kululu and will not use it at your event, its refund page says you get your money back.
You get a full refund if the event collected no guest uploads, requested within 30 days after the wedding. Your own test uploads do not count. Refunds go back through Polar and usually show up in 5 to 10 business days. Kululu's promise is broader in time: money back if you end up not using it at your event, with no deadline written on its refund page.
Other apps couples compare with Kululu
Compare Pix Wedding to other apps
Still researching? Here is how Pix Wedding stacks up against the other major wedding photo sharing platforms.
File limits on Pix Wedding: each photo up to 30 MB and each video up to 100 MB, kept in original quality on every paid plan. Kululu's pages we checked do not state a file size limit.
Why couples look for a Kululu alternative
Kululu is a QR code photo app with a live photo wall, a digital album and a free plan, and it works without an app or an account for guests. The reasons couples shop around are mostly about limits: the free plan closes uploads after 24 hours and keeps the album for 7 days, Plus stops at 500 uploads, and the paid upload windows are 1 or 3 months.
Pix Wedding takes the other route on limits. Every paid plan has unlimited photos, videos and guests in original quality, and the plans differ by features and by how long the album stays open.
Kululu pricing in one paragraph
As of October 18, 2026, Kululu sells Free, Plus and Pro as one-time payments per event. The plan widget showed us PLN 159 for Plus and PLN 399 for Pro, excluding taxes, and the pricing page carried a 50% off banner. A Kululu help article from May 2025 used $39 and $99 as dollar examples. Unlimited plans fall under a fair usage policy of up to 10,000 uploads and 5,000 participants per event.
Where Kululu stays the stronger choice
Approve-first moderation with an automatic filter, a slideshow on the free plan, a 100-upload free tier and a refund promise with no written deadline. If those matter more than unlimited uploads and longer windows, keep Kululu.
