The Neon Museum does not book its daytime Sweetheart Weddings from June through August because of excessive heat, offers sunrise weddings in summer instead, and cancels ceremonies when temperatures exceed 105°F; it also warns that May and September daytime temperatures often pass 100°F. Red Rock Canyon wedding permits must be requested at least 30 days and no more than 180 days ahead, so cooler-season dates need early planning. Lake Tahoe runs a separate mountain calendar, with summer lake weddings and snow in winter.

Clark County's Marriage License Bureau at 201 E. Clark Avenue is open 8 a.m. to midnight seven days a week, including all holidays, and takes no appointments. The fee is $102; cards are accepted for an extra fee and checks are not. Both applicants must appear in person at the same time with original ID documents, and there is no waiting period or blood test. You can start the application online, and it stays in the system for one year. Applicants must be 18, and a 17-year-old Clark County resident needs an order from a Nevada District Court.
Yes, with a Special Recreation Permit from the Bureau of Land Management, which is required for all weddings there. The BLM lists four sites with group limits: the Overlook on State Route 159 (50 people), the Red Spring Boardwalk platform in Calico Basin (50), the Ash Spring Overlook in Calico Basin (12) and the Amphitheater at the Visitor Center (200). Apply at least 30 days and no more than 180 days ahead. The noncommercial minimum fee is the greater of $115 or $6 per person, and no site is reserved for exclusive use. Rice, birdseed, butterflies, balloons, arches, chairs and props are not allowed.
Chapels sell short ceremonies in several formats. The Little White Wedding Chapel at 1301 Las Vegas Blvd lists the Little White Chapel seating 20 guests, the larger Chapel Amore, an outdoor gazebo and the Tunnel of Love drive-thru, with services listed from $80 to $700. Its site reminds couples that the marriage license must come from the Marriage License Bureau before the ceremony. Because the Clark County bureau is open until midnight with no waiting period, it is possible to pick up the license and marry the same day.
A drive-thru ceremony follows the same legal rules as any other Nevada wedding: a Nevada marriage license issued before the ceremony and a licensed officiant to perform it. The venue format does not change the paperwork. The Little White Wedding Chapel says its Tunnel of Love drive-thru opened on Valentine's Day in 1991, and it tells couples to get the license from the Marriage License Bureau first. Ask the chapel who returns the signed paperwork to the county after the ceremony.
