Most vows run 1 to 3 minutes each. A generated draft is shorter than that by design: it gives you the shape, and your own story and promises fill it out. Use the numbers below to decide how much to add.

Nearly every vow that lands follows the same shape. The generator writes three of the five parts from your answers. The other two only you can write, and they are what make it yours.
Start by speaking to your partner, not the room. Their name, then one line that sets the tone.
"Maya, I have been trying to write this for weeks."
Where you met or the moment you knew. One scene, told with one detail guests can picture.
"From the moment we met at a friend's barbecue in 2019..."
A specific habit or trait beats a list of adjectives. The funnier and smaller, the more it sounds like you.
"...someone who would dance in the kitchen while the pasta boils."
The drafts give you general promises. Add at least one only you could make, tied to your real life together.
"I promise to always save you the crispy edge of the lasagne."
End short. This is the line you say while looking at them, so make it easy to remember.
"I choose you, today and every day after."
The moment before the vowsThe second draft uses your answer about your partner twice, once in the middle and once in the last promise. Keep it in one place and turn the other into a new detail. That one edit makes the draft read far less like a template.
If you typed 'help me write my wedding vows' into a search bar, this is the part that matters. Steps 1 and 2 take a minute in the generator. Steps 3 to 7 turn AI generated wedding vows into vows nobody else could have written. Give them an evening.
Write where and how you met in a few words, then one funny or unique thing your partner does as a short action, for example "dance in the kitchen while the pasta boils". The drafts drop your answers into full sentences, so short phrases read best.
Pick a style and press Generate My Vows. You get a heartfelt classic, a twist in the style you chose and a short and sweet version. Read all three out loud and keep the one that sounds most like you.
Nothing says you have to keep one draft whole. Take the opening from one, the middle from another and the closing line from the third. Copy each into a note and rearrange.
Phrases like "the luckiest person alive" work as scaffolding, not as the finished vow. Replace each one with a detail only the two of you know: a place, an inside joke, a moment that changed things.
Keep one serious promise and one lighter one. Concrete beats grand: "I will always drive the first shift" lands harder than "I will love you forever".
Read at a slow, clear pace with a timer running. At 100 to 125 words a minute, a 1 to 2 minute vow is about 100 to 250 words. Cut or add until you land where you and your partner agreed.
Handwrite or print the final vows on a card or small booklet so you are not reading from a phone. Give your officiant a copy, and agree on the order: who speaks first, and whether you repeat after them or read your own.

Most of these have nothing to do with which tool you used. They are what separates a draft from vows that land.
Generator lines are general on purpose so they fit anyone. If a guest could swap in another couple's names, it still needs your details.
One partner reading 30 seconds and the other reading 4 minutes feels uneven. Agree a rough length and whether you are going funny or serious, then keep the words a surprise.
One shared joke is lovely. Five in a row leaves the room outside. Add a few words of context so guests can laugh with you.
Bridebook's ceiling is 4 minutes per person. Past that, cut the second story before you cut a promise.
A phone screen locks, dims and lights up with messages. Print or handwrite them on a card. If you must keep digital vows, turn on airplane mode and max the brightness.
Your personal vows are not the legal declaration. That wording comes from your officiant or registrar, and it has to be said exactly.
A sibling, a friend or your officiant. Ask them one question: which line sounds most like you, and which sounds like anyone? Keep the first kind, rewrite the second. Plans change and rain happens, but the vows are the part nobody forgets.

Fill the brackets with real details, the same ones you would give our generator. The more specific the brackets, the less generic the draft. Then edit it with the seven steps above.

With short answers, the drafts from this generator run roughly 60 to 80 words, so expand them with a story and a promise of your own if you want a 1 to 2 minute vow.
Often, yes, when the vows are full of general lines that could fit any couple. What gives it away is the lack of specific memories, not the tool. If you do not want your wedding story to start with "I was caught using AI to write my wedding vows", use the draft for structure, rewrite every line in your own words and tell your partner how you wrote them. Zola's 2026 report found 63% of couples say AI has no place in writing vows, so it is worth talking about first.
Plenty of couples use AI for planning: The Knot's 2026 study puts AI adoption at 36% of couples, and Zola's report says 54% use it in some way. Vows are more personal, and most couples still write their own (61% in The Knot study). Using a generator to get unstuck, then writing the final words yourself, is the middle path most people are comfortable with.
Five parts cover most vows: open with your partner's name, tell a short story of how it started, say one specific thing you love about them, make two or three promises and close with one line you can say while looking at them. The generator fills the story, the trait and a closing line; the name and the personal promises are yours to add.
It can draft the readings, welcome and personal parts, but not the legal declaration. In January 2026 a Dutch court ruled a couple were not legally married because the ChatGPT-written ceremony speech left out the words Dutch law requires.
