How the estimate works: a 3-hour attended wedding package per booth type (open-air or enclosed ~$800, mirror ~$1,130, glam/360 ~$1,100, selfie station ~$590), scaled by how real prices grow with rental length, about a third less for drop-off, plus $150 for a print add-on. Built on Check Cherry's 2026 booking data. Real quotes vary by region, vendor, season and package, so get 2-3 quotes before booking.

01The short answer

How much is a photo booth for a wedding?

Answer

A wedding photo booth costs about $886 in 2026, the median of real wedding bookings. The middle half of couples pay between $631 and $1,305, and the price moves with the booth type, the number of hours, the attendant and the prints.

The figures come from Check Cherry's 2026 photo booth pricing guide, built from about 118,000 rentals booked through its software since January 2024 (updated August 2026). WeddingWire's cost guide lands a little lower, at a $650 average with most couples spending $425 to $1,000. Both checked October 2026.

How the calculator works out your price

1

Choose your booth type

Pick a selfie station, open-air, enclosed, mirror or glam/360 booth. Each one starts from its own 3-hour wedding package price, taken from 2026 booking data.

2

Set the rental hours

Type 1 to 12 hours or tap 2, 3, 4 or 5. Three hours is a common package length.

3

Toggle the add-ons

Turn the attendant (about 45 percent over drop-off) and custom prints ($150) on or off to see what each one adds.

4

Read your estimate

You get a low to high range (15 percent either side of the midpoint), a cost breakdown and a comparison with a QR guest album.

The formula

A 3-hour attended wedding package for your booth type, scaled by the 2026 price curve for rental length, about a third less if you drop the attendant, plus $150 if prints are on. That is the midpoint. The range runs 15 percent below and above it, rounded to the nearest $10.

02Photo booth prices for weddings

How much do photo booths for weddings cost by booth type?

The booth style moves the price more than anything else on the quote. The table puts the calculator's 3-hour base and its full estimate next to what people paid in 2026 booking data, so you can see where a quote sits.

Booth typeWhat it isCalculator 3h baseCalculator, 3 hours, attendant + prints2026 median (middle half)

How to read the gap

The booking medians cover every event type and every rental length, while the calculator column is a full 3-hour wedding package with an attendant and prints. Wedding bookings run higher than the all-event figures ($886 median against $681 for all events), so expect a wedding quote to land above the right-hand column.

Where the calculator runs high

For mirror and glam/360 booths the calculator's 3-hour estimate with an attendant and prints sits near the top of the 2026 middle half, because it adds the wedding uplift to the all-event medians. If a vendor quotes well under it, that is in line with the data, not a red flag.

Booking data from Check Cherry, How Much Does a Photo Booth Rental Cost? A 2026 Pricing Guide (about 118,000 rentals since January 2024, updated August 10, 2026), checked October 2026. Check Cherry has no separate figure for enclosed booths or selfie stations. Calculator figures are the tool's own estimates, not quotes.

03Rental length

How many hours to book, and what each one adds

In the booking data, the first two hours carry most of the cost. Going from 2 hours or less to 5 hours or more adds about $500 to the median, so each extra hour costs less than the first ones. The calculator follows the same curve, so a fifth hour adds far less than the second one.

04Add-ons and fees

What gets added on top of the booth

Most quotes start with the booth and the hours, then grow. Here is what the 2026 data says about the common extras, and the questions to ask before you sign.

Prints

Often included

Booth maker KRUU says prints are often part of a wedding package and puts typical wedding rentals at $400 to $1,000. The calculator adds $150 for custom prints (Check Cherry's median add-on is $147), so switch it off if your quote already bundles them.

Checklist

Ask about these before the deposit

None of these has a standard price, which is why they are where final bills drift from the first quote. Get each one in writing.

  • Setup and teardown time: is it inside your rental hours or extra?
  • Idle time: what happens if the booth sits closed during dinner or speeches?
  • Overtime: the per-hour rate if the party runs late
  • Deposit size, when the balance is due and the cancellation terms
  • Prints: unlimited, per session, or a set number of strips?
  • Custom template, backdrop and props: included or extra?
  • Digital gallery: how long it stays online and whether you get every file
  • Sales tax, and whether a gratuity for the attendant is expected

05Season and trend

When photo booth prices are hardest to beat

Photo booth calendars fill up in the same months as wedding venues. When a vendor's peak Saturdays are booked, there is little reason to discount. Quieter months give you more room to ask.

The typical operator raised prices about 8 percent, roughly $50, over the same period, per Check Cherry. A quote from last year's wedding fair may already be out of date.

Planning a May, June or December wedding? Book the booth once the venue and date are locked, since those months are when calendars run out. For a January to March date, mention it in your first message and ask whether there is a lower rate.

06Getting quotes

How to get a fair photo booth quote in six steps

The aim is quotes you can compare line by line. Same booth, same hours, every extra on its own line.

  1. 1

    Run the calculator first

Pick your booth type and hours, note the range, then check it against the booking data in sections 02 and 03. You walk into every quote with a number.

  2. 2

Ask two or three vendors for the same thing

Same booth type, same hours, same start time. Quotes for different packages cannot be compared line by line.

  3. 3

    Get it itemized

Booth, hours, attendant, prints, backdrop, travel and tax as separate lines. Bundled quotes hide what you could drop.

  4. 4

Say which dates you are flexible on

May, June and December carry the most bookings. If your date is in a quieter month or on a weekday, say so in the first email.

  5. 5

Trim hours before you trim the booth

In the booking data the median rises from $495 at 2 hours or less to $993 at 5 hours or more. Covering only the dancing peak often saves more than downgrading the booth.

  6. 6

Read the contract before the deposit

Look for overtime rates, idle-time rules, the cancellation window and how long the digital gallery stays online.

[your names]

Fill in the brackets and send the same email to every vendor so the answers line up.

Four things to question on a quote

A single bundled number

If the quote is one figure with no lines, ask for the split. You cannot drop an add-on you cannot see.

Gallery access with an end date you did not ask about

Some packages keep the digital files online for a limited time. Ask how long, and download everything before it closes.

Overtime that costs more than the booked hours

Receptions run late. Get the overtime rate in writing so the last half hour does not surprise you.

A quote far above the top 10 percent

For a wedding, the top 10 percent of bookings start at $1,973 in the 2026 data. A quote well past that should come with a clear reason.

07Is it worth it?

Pros and cons of a wedding photo booth

A booth is a party activity first and a photo plan second. It earns its price at a lively reception and sits idle at a quiet one.

Pros

  • Guests get a physical keepsake to take home the same night
  • A visible activity for guests who do not dance
  • Group shots of friends that the photographer may not get
  • An attendant keeps the line moving and the props tidy
  • Prints can double as a guest book when guests sign a copy

Cons

  • Only guests who walk to the booth corner take part
  • Covers the rental window, usually part of the reception
  • Needs floor space, power and often a setup slot from the venue
  • Add-ons, travel and overtime can push the final bill past the quote
  • Misses the ceremony, cocktail hour and candid moments
Book a booth if

You have a long reception with a dance floor and a crowd that likes to pose

Prints to take home matter to you and your guests

Your venue has a spare corner with power near the party

Skip it or go smaller if

Your budget is tight and the booth would replace something you care about more

It is a small or short reception where a booth would sit idle

What you want is every guest's photos from the whole day, not posed strips

08Photo booth vs QR guest album

What the same budget gets you with a QR album

A booth and a QR guest album do different jobs. The booth makes posed prints in one corner for a few hours. A QR album collects the photos and videos guests take on their own phones, all day. Here is how they compare on price and coverage.

Pick a booth if

You want printed strips in guests' hands on the night and a staffed activity at the reception. A QR album does not print anything on site.

Pick a QR album if

You want every guest's photos and videos from the whole day in one place, in original quality. The $59 plan adds a live slideshow, which puts some of the booth's crowd energy on a screen.

Or run both

Keep a short booth rental for prints and put the QR code next to it, so the booth shots and everything else land in the same album.

Wedding Photo Booth Cost FAQ

What couples ask before booking: the typical price, cost by booth type and hours, attendants and prints, hidden fees, peak months and cheaper options.

In 2026 booking data from Check Cherry, the median wedding photo booth booking is $886, the middle half of couples pay $631 to $1,305, and the top 10 percent pay $1,973 or more. WeddingWire puts the average couple's spend at $650, with most spending $425 to $1,000. Use the calculator above to estimate your own price by booth type, hours, attendant and prints.

Check Cherry's 2026 medians across all events are $615 for a classic or open-air booth, $702 for a roaming booth, $750 for a 360 booth, $866 for a mirror booth and $950 for a glam booth. Wedding bookings run higher than the all-event median, so treat these as a floor for a wedding quote.

Most vendors sell packages, not hourly rates. In Check Cherry's data the median is $495 for 2 hours or less, $699 for 3 hours, $800 for 4 hours and $993 for 5 hours or more, so each extra hour adds less than the first ones. The calculator follows the same curve: it starts from a 3-hour package price per booth type and scales it by these length medians.

A drop-off booth with no attendant is usually the cheapest, with a median of $450 against $656 for an attended rental in Check Cherry's data. Among booth styles, the classic open-air booth has the lowest median at $615. In the calculator, a drop-off selfie station is the cheapest setup, about $290 for 2 hours.

It depends on the vendor, so ask for an itemized quote. Booth maker KRUU notes that prints are often included in wedding packages. Attended rentals have a higher median ($656) than drop-off rentals ($450). In the calculator, switching the attendant off takes about a third off the booth price, and custom prints add $150.

About 18 percent of rentals carry a travel fee (median $50), and 26 percent attach a paid add-on (median $147). Also ask about overtime, idle time during dinner, setup outside your rental hours, the deposit, sales tax and a gratuity for the attendant.

Bookings cluster in May (about 14 percent of events), June (about 12 percent) and December (about 12 percent), while January sits under 5 percent, per Check Cherry. If your date falls in a peak month, book as soon as your venue and date are set. Prices also edged up, with first-half medians of $675 in 2024, $698 in 2025 and $700 in 2026.

A QR code guest album collects photos and videos from every guest's phone for the whole day. Pix Wedding starts free with 20 uploads, and paid plans are a one-time $49, $59 or $89 with unlimited guests. It does not print strips on the night, so some couples run both: a booth for prints and a QR album for everything else.
