Melbourne is the coolest mainland capital in this guide after Canberra. March averages 24.5 degrees and November 22.3, both easy for outdoor ceremonies. Winter sits around 14 to 15 degrees, which suits fireplace receptions in the Yarra Valley and Daylesford and the Sunday to Friday packages some estates run.

Yes. Births, Deaths and Marriages Victoria says the celebrant must be physically present at the ceremony, along with two witnesses aged 18 or over. Your Notice of Intended Marriage must reach the celebrant at least one month before the date.
Vue Events by Vue de Monde hosts weddings on level 55 of the Rialto on Collins Street. For gardens close to the city, Rippon Lea Estate in Elsternwick takes garden ceremonies, with receptions catered by Peter Rowland Group from 1 January 2027.
